Tamara was born in Israel but holds Israeli, South African and Canadian nationality, while she lives in Britain. She completed her undergraduate work earning a degree in Film Studies at Tel Aviv University, followed by further specialised studies at Koteret School of Journalism, Tel Aviv, after which she moved to Cambridge in the UK where she earned a CELTA qualification, for teaching English as a second language. In Europe she has shared her love of the Hebrew language by working in many educational contexts:  as a university teaching fellow at UCL, A-Level writer and examiner, and as a language Quality Assurance assessor and translator.  She is also the founder and executive director of “Alumot”, a Hebrew centre in Cambridge for children aged 0-17.

Tamara has worked at several IB World Schools, including Luxembourg, Amsterdam, London, Berlin and Stockholm, where she teaches Hebrew as a Language A (mother tongue) and also at Language B (Acquisition) at all levels – MYP through IB Diploma, and through this work has participated in IB training. We are pleased to have Tamara working with our Hebrew-speaking students.
