Susmita is from Shantiniketan, a place famous for its association with the great Indian Nobel Prize winner, Rabindra Nath Tagore.  Susmita describes it as a very beautiful place. Greenery all around. Chirping of birds. The fragrance of flowers in the air.  She says, ‘We used to sit under the tree and take classes. of nature and grew up in the lap of nature.  Rabindranath ji said that the closer we stay to nature, the better we will be able to learn to live life from it.’

This childhood has truly inspired Susmita, and it was there at  Visva Bharati University that she earned a BA, and MA and a  PhD in Hindi.  Upon graduating, she came to the UK to join her where she first worked in the care sector, but since 2020 she has taught Hindi at an IB World School in London.  She also works as a translator working in English, Hindi and Bengali.  We are pleased that Susmita is available to work with our IB Hindi student.
