Ana was born and raised in Bilbao in the north of Spain.  She studied at the University of the Basque Country where she earned a Bachelor in Arts and Philosophy, and then the Universidad Cumpultense de Madrid earning a Secondary Teaching Certificate.  Her international journey started when she spent time in the UK to learn English and then started teaching Spanish, first in South Carolina in the USA, then in Bahamas and then for several years at St Nicholas British School, an IB World School in Sao Paolo, Brazil where she was also Head of Department. More recently she has taught IBMYP and IBDP Spanish at The Metropolitan School in Panama, then at an IB school in the Bahamas, and she is currently back in Europe teaching at an IB school in Romania.  She has also taught US and British curriculum.

She has done extensive IB professional development for both Language A and Language B at workshops I Sao Paolo, Bogota and Panama, and has held posts of responsibility with the IB. She has also supervised Extended Essays.

We are pleased to have Ana on the team as a Spanish teacher who has gained tremendous Ibero-American experience and perspective.
